Greetings! This is another, really short message because I haven’t packed for CSWE (leave early tomorrow morning), haven’t figured dinner (what can I scrape out of the refrigerator), and have barely prepped for the class I need to teach in 2 hours (the pedagogy of winging it). Life is crazy.
By way of update – the kitten is truly ours. We have named her Roxy Le Pew. Roxy because she is quite sassy. Le Pew because she is a bit of a stinker – figuratively and literally. Thus far, no major clashes with the other cats. Roxy was recently spayed, so she’s walking around in a little onesie to protect the incision. Looks ridiculous.
By way of panic – it is two weeks until the election. There is a growing pit in my stomach every time I think about it, which is often because I am inundated with texts and emails about various candidates. I’m a bit terrified at what will happen regardless of who wins. My daughter is now looking at colleges in Europe because she just wants to get out of here.
By way of community – I’m really looking forward to seeing folks at CSWE. While the conference can be a nightmare, the connections are not. If you are coming, please stop by our booth (#728), come to our membership meeting on Saturday evening, and attend the COSA track presentations.
In solidarity,
Cheryl (chair@acosa.org)
