ACOSA Announces Its NEW Community Practice Certificate Partnership Program

Published on 7/22/2020
The Association for Community Organization and Social Action is pleased to launch a Community Practice Certificate this summer and is seeking partnering schools and programs to be among the first to collaborate in offering this new national/international certificate in Community Practice for Community Organizing, Planning, Development, and Change. ACOSA has piloted this partnership program in the spring and is now opening this Certificate to schools of social work and other professional programs that offer curricular study in the following areas: community organizing, community planning, community development, community change.

As schools/programs partner with ACOSA to offer this Community Practice Certificate, their graduates and alumni will be able to demonstrate nationally certified competencies across these four key community practice domains and build their professional portfolios. In the future ACOSA hopes to extend this national certification to other community practitioners.

ACOSA is a leading national and international network for community practice educators, practitioners, and students, and it sponsors the internationally recognized Journal of Community Practice. Learn more about ACOSA’s Community Practice domains and competencies and how your school/program can partner with ACOSA to offer this new Community Practice Certificate here.

Special partnership discounts are available to ACOSA institutional members and sponsoring institutions. Institutional membership in ACOSA is welcome (See membership details).
Certificate recipients also receive a one-year practitioner membership in ACOSA

We hope you will join ACOSA in making this Community Practice Certificate available to your graduates and alumni. Thank you for sharing this announcement with deans and program directors, as well as others in your professional networks.
