“Defending and Supporting DEIB Educators and Scholars Against Censorship and State Bans,” is a follow-up to our successful discussion and speakout at the 2023 APM. Coordinated by ACOSA chair-elect, Shane Brady, this session will center on the experiences of several ACOSA members and allies who are contending with various forms of cancellation due to race, gender, sexuality, religion, political positions, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences, and we hope to have a discussion on what social work educators need to do to combat these troubling developments.
The incoming Journal of Community Practice editors – Cheryl Hyde, Jan Ivery, Amy Krings, and Mary Ohmer, will be at the ACOSA booth (#728) on Saturday from 11-1 and 3-5. Stop by to learn about becoming a journal reviewer, pitch an article idea, or discuss future topics for us to cover.
Join in the celebration of some of the best students, practitioners, and scholars in community practice. Updates on the Macro Curriculum Guide, Macro United Conference, and other projects will be provided.
