#RadChats Launch

It's time to radically connect! Today, we are announcing our new monthly opportunity to "drop in" to chat with SWAA members and other interested folx about radical or progressive social work and human services work with folks around the country and maybe even beyond. Perhaps you attended one of our gatherings in the pre-COVID past or one of our webinars or trainings in recent months. We are excited by those opportunities and partnerships - to grow our relationships and share information.

Our inaugural #RadChat will be held on Tuesday, March 21, from 8-9 pm ET. Join us for the full-time or just part of the time as this is not a scheduled presentation or a CEU opportunity! Rather, this is a new opportunity to share with each other the joys and frustrations of doing justice work within and adjacent to the social work profession as well as the important work of human and social services. Together, we will thoughtfully consider a radical critique of current social work, human services, and social service education and practice, but we will do that through the lens and the voices of the people who drop in to chat with us each month.

Our hope is that SWAA #RadChats can be a source of support when you feel uncertain or disturbed by some aspect of your work that seems – perhaps - contrary to your values. Or even better, this may be a place to seek validation or encouragement for work that takes bravery and love of social justice to do and celebrate wins of any size! We need each other and we need places to support each other. We hope the #RadChat drop-in opportunity becomes a strong part of the fabric of support for our work.
